Hi,
I've just implemented a DS 216+II running the latest software. Simple setup, 3x new Windows 10 x64 clients. Drive mapped to the NAS with users having full control and full file access. Simple gb LAN. User accounts locally on NAS stored via windows credential manager.
(Yes, snapshot app and diskstation backup app in use).
Anyway, clients running Sage Line 50 payroll, and the data was located on the NAS. But the performance is dire! e.g. clicking something and it'd take 30s+ to do anything and random bomb outs. Database path set to UNC rather than the drive mapping.
NAS performance for files is otherwise good.
So is Sage 50 Payroll generally ok to have data on the NAS? Any special configuration needed? (I changed SMB to allow v3 but made no difference). Or is Sage best avoided on the NAS? Or do any of you have it working perfectly? I'm asking about Sage 50 Payroll, but would also be interest in Sage Line 50 for the future.
Bit of a disaster as their other finance app I was told was "file access only" actually needs a pervasive database server so that can't run on the NAS either!!
** I hasten to add ** that the Sage 50 Payroll runs quicker when files stored on one of the Windows 10 clients, though it is far from perfect, so the app and/or database may be at fault!
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
